I Heart Drugstore Makeup Tag

I have been reading and watching this tag alot because even though I LOVE my high end products I am also a huge fan of drugstore/highstreet products. I mean who doesn't love a good drugstore dupe :).. I use high end makeup but totally believe you can get products that are just as good and sometimes better at the drugstore.
I haven't been tagged to do this but just really wanted to do it so I thought I would just throw out the rule book and do it anyway (Ohh I am such a rebel!)

1. What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall?
At the moment I think it is Rimmel. They have been bringing out some really good products at the moment. They are definitely on there game.
2. What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products?
Cheek
Natural Collection blushes in Peach Melba and Pink Cloud. I love these blushes they have good pigmentation and last all day and for £1.99 you can not complain.
Face
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer. It is an high coverage concealer and it is definitely one of the best concealers I have tried, and I have tried alot. It is high coverage without being cakey and even goes light enough for me to use which is rare for a drugstore product.
Lip
This changes all the time as I think that the drugstore do some of the best lip product especially Rimmel and Revlon but at the moment my favourite is the Loreal Glamshine Stain Splash, they are such good dupes for the YSL Glamshines (You can read my compairson HERE).
3. Least favorite product?
For me my least favourite products are drugstore foundation, It is only because they do not go light enough for me which is so annoying because there are some really good foundations but they just look too orange on me, If anyone does know of a foundation that goes super light and is good PLEASE let me know I would love to find one.
4. What is the best makeup bargain?
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is such a baragin at £3.99 and is one of the best powders I have ever used.
5. What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?)
I think my underdog product would be the 2true Cheek and Lip Stain. People may have talked about this product and I just haven't seen it but I love it. I am sure we all know what a stain is so I don't need to go in to details but it lasts all day, It goes over foundation smoothly and is a bargain at £1.99.
6. A drugstore product that is overpriced?
Max factor false lash effect mascara, It is a good mascara but at £10.99 it is not far off the price of a high end mascara.
7. Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!!
I have a lot of dupes that are hyped up in the beauty community so as everyone knows about them there is not much point mentioning them, like the MUA undress me pallette and Maybelline colour tattoos but one that I do have that is not mentioned a lot (I think) is the Technic Nail Polish in Carnival is a dupe for OPI Rainbow Collection.
8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype?
For me personally I don't get the hype with the maybelline dream lumi touch but that is probably because it does not go light enough for me to get the desired effect.

(Sorry there is not pictures my stupid camera decided to break on me)

I TAG ALL OF YOU
Have you done the I Heart Drugstore Makeup Tag, if so let me know I would love to read it

My Top 10 Drugstore Products

I love my high end makeup products, but I also like most of us here I love a good bargain and think that you can find amazing products at the drugstore/hightstreet.

Here are my top 10 make up products

Maybelline Dream Touch Blush
This is such an amazing cream blush. It blends in to the skin nicely and doesn't just slide off the cheeks within a few hours. I use it on its own when I am going for a natural look as it gives a natural glow to the skin or as a base for other powder blush when I want my blush to last longer. I have Peach which is a gorgeous peach colour with very subtle shimmer and it

Revlon Lipsticks
I think Revlon lipsticks are some of the best out there. They are long wearing. They have such gorgeous colours and formulations and for the price they are really hard to beat. I have loads of lipsticks from them but these 3 are my favourite ones.

Pink In The Afternoon (Creme) -Warm Toned Pink
Really Red (Matte) - This is a blue toned bright red.
Smoked Peach (Matte) - Orangey Peach

Loreal Super Liner
This is such an amazing eyeliner, The formula is very black and stays put all day long even with my extremely oily eyelids. It has a sponge applicator which is so easy to use it makes doing eyeliner I a doddle. I have hooded eyes so usually eyeliner ends up all over the top of my eye lids but it doesn't with this. I cannot recommend this product enough and will be repurchasing this for as long as they make it.

2true Cheek And Lip Stain
When I first picked up this little jar I didn't really have high hopes for it as it was only £1.99 and 2true are not known for having great products really BUT they definitely got it right with this. It blends in to the skin without making your foundation patchy and lasts all day. A little bit goes along way so this little  jar will last me a long time. It comes in a bottle like a nail varnish and I just put one or two dots on my cheek and blend it in with the ELF powder brush. You have to be quick though as it dries quickly so if you dont blend it quickly enough it can go streaky

01 Rose
I had both shades the rose and the pink but I accidentally smashed the pink one so I need to go and pick it up again soon. Rose just gives a gorgeous rosey flush to the cheeks.

 Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
This is a very popular product in the beauty community and with good reasons. I have tried ALOT of concealers over the years from high end to drugstore and this is definitely one of the best that I have tried. It is an high coverage concealer, which doesn't look cakey on the. It is easy to blend and even goes light enough for me to use and all for the small price of £4.19.

Maybelline Color Tattoo
These cream eyeshadows are amazing dupes for the mac paint pots. They make such good bases but they do crease on me so I have to use a primer. I love using the immortal charcoal when I am doin a smokey eye. I just wised that Maybelline would release some neutral colours in the UK.

Immortal Charcoal - Dark Grey with subtle shimmer
Pink Gold - Pinky Gold with subtle shimmer
Eternal Gold -  Gold with a lot of shimmer

Natural Collection Blush
Now these are a bargain at £1.99, The packaging is crap but who really cares when the product is actually good quality and the price is so cheap, They do not last all day long but for a good chunk of it, I am not sure if all the blushes are good, some of them are a bit chalky but the two that I have are fine.

Pink Cloud - Natural Pink
Peach Melba - Matte Warm Peach

Sleek Divine Eyeshadow Palette
These palettes are also huge in the beauty community. The storm palette is talked about alot. I have Au Naturel and Storm. The eye shadows are velvety, easy to blend, super pigmented. I haven't swatched them because I am planning on doing a post about my favourite eyeshadow palettes.

Lacrura Eye Brightener

This is one of them highlighting concealer pens that are everywhere at the moment. I have used this for over a year now. It covers my dark under eye circles and gives such a lovely glow. It also doesn't crease under the eyes and. I use this as a highlight on my cheek bones and down my nose too on days where I don't really want to wear much makeup. I tried the Maybelline dream lumi concealer but it did not go light enough for me like the aldi one did and I even think it works better on me than the YSL Touché Eclat.

Beauty Things I Suck At Tag

I have seen this tag and I have been really enjoying it, It is nice to know that we all have things that we cannot do when it comes to beauty :)
I have come along way from when I first started doing my makeup. Poking myself in the eye was a regular thing with mascara and eyeliner and crying like a baby becuase it hurt and having to then wipe all the makeup off and start again because I had mascara all down my face. I can now even do false eyelashes but there is still some things that I really cannot do, so here they are;

Moisturizing my body everyday
This is just laziness to be honest but I mean who really has time to moisturizer there body everyday. I need to at least do my arms as I have Keratosis Pilaris pretty bad on them (I will do a post on this soon) but I just never do.

Using eye cream
I am at the age now where I should start wearing eye cream. Prevention is better than cure and all that but I just forget every time.

Getting mascara everywhere
Now, I don't poke it in my eye anymore but because I have super long lashes and really small hooded eyes it means that 9 times out of ten I end up with mascara somewhere on my eyelid messing up my eye shadow.

Washing my makeup brushes
I know, I know it is disgusting and even writing this is actually making me cringe I have gone months and months without washing them and I don't even want to know how long it has been. I have no excuse either it is just laziness. I have tried to wash them more often I even started putting it as a reminder on my phone but that just failed.

Eyebrows
These things on my face are the bane of my life I can just never get them to look nice if one is ok the other is so messed up. I cannot get them to look even remotely similar. I know they shouldn't be identical - They should be sisters not twins but my eyebrows don't even look like friends. I either over pluck or fill them in to dark. I just need help!

So what do you suck at, let me know

April Favourites

Hello Beauties,
I cannot believe that I am actually posting my favourites on time, and  not a couple of weeks later YAY for being a good blogger :)

Soap And Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel - it seems everyone and there mother has used and loved this and i am no exception. I have had it for a while but just never seemed to use it as i was trying to use up my lush soaps and I think I have found my favourite shower gel EVER ,it has the most gorgeous scent which is the soap and Glory's signature scent (  ) a little lathers up alot so even though it is more than your typical shower gel it is so worth it as it last ages. I kept hearing everyone say how it leaves your skin feeling super soft and I was such a cynic if your in a hot shower your skin is going to dry out no matter what and you always need to moisturiser after (even though I don't oops) but I was surprised when i got out and my skin felt soft and didn't feel like I NEEDED to use a moisturizer. I still do though and I love to follow up with soap and glory righteous butter. (I don't have the bottle with me to take a photo of as  my sister has nicked it from me but I am sure you all know what it looks like)

Superdrug Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser - I have been using this on and off for a few months but started using it everyday this past month and I totally feel in love with it. I have a first impressions post which you can see here but to be honest I didn't think I would get on with it, I thought it was going to be to thick and heavy but I was wrong, it does the job at cleansing my skin and as long as I use a toner there is no reminisce of the cream left on my skin and for only £5.99 you really cannot grumble.

Superdrug Vitamin E Night Cream - This is such a lovely night cream, it is highly fragranced so if you don't like that then this will not be for you but I like the smell and it does not linger on your skin, it is a rich moisturizer and sinks in to my skin like a dream leaving it soft and for 2.99 it is such amazing value for money.

Nivea Lip Balm - This is one of them staple and classic products that have been used for generations. I have had really dry and disgustingly flaky lips this month and for some reason I could not find any of my lip balms even though I have loads, (I am sure there is a fairy that comes along and takes my lip balms and delivers them back to me a year later once they are completely disgusting and out of date, she must keep them with the hair grips she takes from me), anyway I just ran in to Superdrug and picked this up and totally fell back in love with it, it is the perfect night time lip balm, thick and creamy, it healed my lips like nothing else and it definitely is going to be a staple in my night tome routine.

Sally Hansen Mega Shine - I have been on the search for a good base and top coat for the past few month but I haven't really found anything that I really like till now. Sally Hansen Mega Shine can be applied to nails whilst they are wet or dry and leaves them with such a, well...'Mega Shine'. It is so shiny and my polish stays on for much longer before chipping. As you can see from the packaging mine is very well loved :)

L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash V YSL Glossy Stains

Hi there in my February favourites I said that I had been loving the new L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash and I said I would do a review and comparison with YSL Glossy Stains so here it is (Not that you cannot guess that from the title)
I have had the YSL since July last year and I have been in LOVE with it but when I heard that L'Oreal was bringing out something similar and the word dupe was being thrown around I knew I had to get in there. I mean L'Oreal does own YSL so it does make you wonder and I do love a good dupe, who doesn't?

PACKAGING
I prefer the YSL packaging but I mean come on it is only packaging does it really matter that much. The only thing about the L'Oreal packaging is that the wand is at the bottom, it might just be me being simple but it caught be off guard a bit.

Both are sponge applicators which are spoon shaped which is great for application, I still usually use a lip brush for a more precise application (Otherwise I can get in to a little bit of a mess

SHADES
The downside of the L'Oreal ones is there is not that many shade and some of the shades that are out are a little dodge but I am sure they will bring out more shades as time goes by.
I have 1 YSL shade and 3 L'Oreal as they were 3 for 2
L-R YSL No.9 Rouge Laque, L'Oreal Juliet, L'Oreal Milady, L'Oreal Lolita
(Swatches after left for 5 minuets and then wiped off)
L-R YSL No.9 Rouge Laque, L'Oreal Juliet, L'Oreal Milady, L'Oreal Lolita

YSL ROUGE LAQUE is a bright warm toned red

JULIET is a pink red that is more on the warmer side

MILADY is a pink plum colour

LOLITA is a natural nude

APPLICATION
They both have the same formulation that feels like gel when first applied and after a few coats they get a very glossy finish. The YSL need about 2-3 coats whereas the L'Oreal one are not as thick or opaque and need 4-5 coats to get an opaque finish.

WEAR
They both last amazingly, around 4-5 hours before needing to be topped up and that was whist eating and drinking.

PRICE
YSL is £23.50 and L'Oreal is £7.99 so defiantly a massive difference for something so similar.

SMELL
The smell of the YSL is something I hear everyone talking about and it putting alot of people off and I am afraid to say the L'Oreal are worse there is a artificial berry smell that could be hard to get pasted for some but smells do not bother me to much so it is fine with me.

CONCLUSION
I am very pleased with both of these and love them both they are both so similar that it is defiantly not worth paying four times as much for the YSL unless you are looking for a luxury item. The YSL goes on more smoothly and is more opaque but it doesn't justify the price difference. The would buy another YSL if there was a shade that I liked that L'Oreal didn't have similar. Both are such good products and they both get two thumbs up from me :)

Have your tried either of these? What did you think?

Favourite Blushes

Alright my lovelies :)
Today I am going to do my favourite blushes. I do love blushes but I don't really have that many. I prefer experimenting with darker eyes so usual stick with more neutral blushes and dont really experiment much. When I was picking up my favourite blushes I realised that matte blushes are my favourite formulation for blushes...I think it is because I am scared that the shimmery blushes will make me just look like a disco ball so I prefer to just wear a matte blush and add a highlighter :)

Mac  - Instant Chic
This has to be my favourite blush of all time. It is a gorgeous matte pinky peach colour. It is such a versatile colour as it is a sheer wash of colour but can easily be buildt up for a more intense colour. It is a limited edition colour and I am running out :(. I don't know what I am going to do when it runs out, I really need to find a dupe for this so if anyone knows of one I would love to know.

1

Sleek - Flamingo
This matte pink colour is extremely pigmented and it looks very scary in the pan but don't let it scare you off. You just need to use a light hand and I use a stippling brush so it sheers it out a bit and it gives you such a gorgeous flush to the cheeks. Perfect for the spring and summer.

Mac - Well Dressed
I didn't think this blush would work for me because it is a cool blue toned pink and I am warm toned but I got it as a present for my last birthday and I am so glad that I did. It is a satin finish which gives you a gorgeous glow. It gives a sheer wash of colour to the cheeks and is perfect for my pale skin.

Natural Collection - Peach Melba
I have used this blush for years and years, since school back when I had no idea what I was doing...wearing foundation that is too orange and frosty blue eyeshadow *cringe*(Gosh I must have looked awful). It is a matte peach colour, obviously :). It is a perfect natural colour. It doesn't have great staying power but for £1.99 you can't complain.

Elf - Peachy Keen

I love this blush for my days where I am hardly wearing much makeup and going for the really natural look or when I am doing a smokey eye. I know I just said that I am not a fan of blush with glitter but the shimmer doesn't transfer to badly on the cheeks. This warm toned sheer peachy golden blush has small golden shimmer and is prefect for warming up my face without looking orange.

Maybelline Dream Touch Blush - Peach
This is a gorgeous peach colour with very subtle shimmer. I didn't think I would get on with this blush as it is a cream blush. I thought it would slide right off but it doesn't. It gives a lovely natural glow. It blends in to the skin. I use it on its own when I am going for a natural look or as a base for other powder blush when I want my blush to last longer.

2 True Cheek N Lip Tint
For £1.99 I didn't really have high hopes but this little jar definitely worth the price, it will last for such a long time as you only need to use the tiniest amount. I definitely wont be purchasing the Benefit one. Blended in it gives your cheeks such a gorgeous rosey flush, like you have just been for a jog, which looks great with my porcelain skin tone. To apply this I use my elf powder blush to blend it in but you have to do it quickly or it will end up all streaky.

What is your favourite blush?
