April Favourites

Hello Beauties,
I cannot believe that I am actually posting my favourites on time, and  not a couple of weeks later YAY for being a good blogger :)

Soap And Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel - it seems everyone and there mother has used and loved this and i am no exception. I have had it for a while but just never seemed to use it as i was trying to use up my lush soaps and I think I have found my favourite shower gel EVER ,it has the most gorgeous scent which is the soap and Glory's signature scent (  ) a little lathers up alot so even though it is more than your typical shower gel it is so worth it as it last ages. I kept hearing everyone say how it leaves your skin feeling super soft and I was such a cynic if your in a hot shower your skin is going to dry out no matter what and you always need to moisturiser after (even though I don't oops) but I was surprised when i got out and my skin felt soft and didn't feel like I NEEDED to use a moisturizer. I still do though and I love to follow up with soap and glory righteous butter. (I don't have the bottle with me to take a photo of as  my sister has nicked it from me but I am sure you all know what it looks like)

Superdrug Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser - I have been using this on and off for a few months but started using it everyday this past month and I totally feel in love with it. I have a first impressions post which you can see here but to be honest I didn't think I would get on with it, I thought it was going to be to thick and heavy but I was wrong, it does the job at cleansing my skin and as long as I use a toner there is no reminisce of the cream left on my skin and for only £5.99 you really cannot grumble.

Superdrug Vitamin E Night Cream - This is such a lovely night cream, it is highly fragranced so if you don't like that then this will not be for you but I like the smell and it does not linger on your skin, it is a rich moisturizer and sinks in to my skin like a dream leaving it soft and for 2.99 it is such amazing value for money.

Nivea Lip Balm - This is one of them staple and classic products that have been used for generations. I have had really dry and disgustingly flaky lips this month and for some reason I could not find any of my lip balms even though I have loads, (I am sure there is a fairy that comes along and takes my lip balms and delivers them back to me a year later once they are completely disgusting and out of date, she must keep them with the hair grips she takes from me), anyway I just ran in to Superdrug and picked this up and totally fell back in love with it, it is the perfect night time lip balm, thick and creamy, it healed my lips like nothing else and it definitely is going to be a staple in my night tome routine.

Sally Hansen Mega Shine - I have been on the search for a good base and top coat for the past few month but I haven't really found anything that I really like till now. Sally Hansen Mega Shine can be applied to nails whilst they are wet or dry and leaves them with such a, well...'Mega Shine'. It is so shiny and my polish stays on for much longer before chipping. As you can see from the packaging mine is very well loved :)

L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash V YSL Glossy Stains

Hi there in my February favourites I said that I had been loving the new L'Oreal Glam Shine Stain Splash and I said I would do a review and comparison with YSL Glossy Stains so here it is (Not that you cannot guess that from the title)
I have had the YSL since July last year and I have been in LOVE with it but when I heard that L'Oreal was bringing out something similar and the word dupe was being thrown around I knew I had to get in there. I mean L'Oreal does own YSL so it does make you wonder and I do love a good dupe, who doesn't?

PACKAGING
I prefer the YSL packaging but I mean come on it is only packaging does it really matter that much. The only thing about the L'Oreal packaging is that the wand is at the bottom, it might just be me being simple but it caught be off guard a bit.

Both are sponge applicators which are spoon shaped which is great for application, I still usually use a lip brush for a more precise application (Otherwise I can get in to a little bit of a mess

SHADES
The downside of the L'Oreal ones is there is not that many shade and some of the shades that are out are a little dodge but I am sure they will bring out more shades as time goes by.
I have 1 YSL shade and 3 L'Oreal as they were 3 for 2
L-R YSL No.9 Rouge Laque, L'Oreal Juliet, L'Oreal Milady, L'Oreal Lolita
(Swatches after left for 5 minuets and then wiped off)
L-R YSL No.9 Rouge Laque, L'Oreal Juliet, L'Oreal Milady, L'Oreal Lolita

YSL ROUGE LAQUE is a bright warm toned red

JULIET is a pink red that is more on the warmer side

MILADY is a pink plum colour

LOLITA is a natural nude

APPLICATION
They both have the same formulation that feels like gel when first applied and after a few coats they get a very glossy finish. The YSL need about 2-3 coats whereas the L'Oreal one are not as thick or opaque and need 4-5 coats to get an opaque finish.

WEAR
They both last amazingly, around 4-5 hours before needing to be topped up and that was whist eating and drinking.

PRICE
YSL is £23.50 and L'Oreal is £7.99 so defiantly a massive difference for something so similar.

SMELL
The smell of the YSL is something I hear everyone talking about and it putting alot of people off and I am afraid to say the L'Oreal are worse there is a artificial berry smell that could be hard to get pasted for some but smells do not bother me to much so it is fine with me.

CONCLUSION
I am very pleased with both of these and love them both they are both so similar that it is defiantly not worth paying four times as much for the YSL unless you are looking for a luxury item. The YSL goes on more smoothly and is more opaque but it doesn't justify the price difference. The would buy another YSL if there was a shade that I liked that L'Oreal didn't have similar. Both are such good products and they both get two thumbs up from me :)

Have your tried either of these? What did you think?
